Hire Me for Your Next Project

Step one: Let's meet

The first step to hiring me for your next project is to contact me. You have a few options, including by email or contact form on my website. You can also get a free 30-minute consultation by Teams or Zoom. That would let me answer your questions and see any examples you may have.

During your consultation, we can discuss project details such as:

  • The type of working relationship (per project, part-time staff member, or long-term).
  • The payment method (check, Venmo or direct deposit).
  • The project details, such as timeline, deliverables, and review process.

Payment methods

Once the project is done, there are multiple payment methods I accept, including:

  • Check (made payable to “Jon White”)
  • Direct deposit
  • Venmo (#name) or PayPal (#name)

I also accept payments on my website. Contact me for more information.

Copyright ownership

For freelance jobs: I own the rights to all concepts and proofs shown during the project. Once the approved files are delivered and final payment is received, I’ll transfer the copyright for all logo designs and marketing materials to you.

For W-2 working relationships: If I’m working with you as a W-2 employee on your staff, then the copyright for everything I create are immediately owned by you.

My work process

I generally follow a simple process for my design projects:

  1. Initial concept meeting. This is where we discuss your ideas, project details, responsibilities, and project details. Then I create an initial low-resolution proof and send it to you.
  2. Revise and review. You review the proof and send any feedback to me. I’ll make your revisions and send you a new proof. We’ll repeat this until you have a proof you’re happy with.
  3. Final approval. Once you approve the final proof, I will send you a high-resolution file to produce. I can also work with your printer or development team to produce the file.
  4. Invoicing and final payment. Once the final file is sent, I’ll send you an invoice with a breakdown of all your charges. Then you can send the final payment.

All proofs will have a “PROOF” watermark on them during the review phase. I’ll remove the watermark from the final approved file.

Some tips for a more successful project

  • Bring any samples of designs or materials that you like. They can help inspire my design.
  • Send me any brand guidelines or style guides before I begin.
  • If you’ve already selected a printer or developer, put me in touch with them. I’ll make sure my files follow their submission guidelines.
  • Have a clear idea of who will review and approve any proofs. Also, collect any group feedback into one file and send that file to me. This will help streamline communications and avoid missed edits.
